LAURA COLANERI, PH.D.

​

Laura Colaneri is currently a postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in the Humanities at the University of Chicago. She received her Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago in 2023. She holds certificates from the University of Chicago in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Gender and Sexuality Studies. She received her M.A. in Spanish literature and her B.A. in English and Spanish literature from the State University of New York, University at Albany. Her research interests include:

  • Southern Cone literature

  • Dictatorship, authoritarianism, and political violence

  • Cultural Studies

  • Horror and Gothic literature and film

  • Women's literature and gender and sexuality studies
